Are the poor in our world really just those who are starving or have no money? What about those who are lonely and are poor in friends and company? The fearful who are poor in peace and security? The exploited who are poor in justice and a voice? The unhappy who are poor in joy and laughter? The miserable who are poor in hope and happiness? Like the financially poor the answer is not to throw money at the situation but to spread understanding in real ways to help for the long-term. Jesus came to bring understanding and to help us fight for all who are poor in our world. Will you listen to His teachings and join in the real fight against poverty of all kinds?
