Such Love

Never have I had a father give his son for me, ’til now
Never has a king given up his kingdom for me, ’til now
Never has a man given everything, suffered everything to set me free, ’til now
And how can I repay that kind of sacrifice, I don’t know how.
If that doesn’t deserve the praise of every breath, I know nothing
And if that doesn’t warrant my whole life lived for him, I know nothing
And when I ponder on what He gave up I seem to know loving
If only the world would know it the world would be buzzing
If only the world could comprehend this kind of love
A love that gave up everything
A love that asked nothing
A love that was willing
A love that continues to be thrilling
A love never ending
And without a beginning
I’ll never understand it or be able to replicate it
I ask for a glimpse and a means to retain it
To remember the lack of conditions
The lack of my deserving
This love never changing, this love never swerving
This love given freely that’s all life preserving
This love come to earth for man’s own observing

Never have I had a father give his son for me, ’til now
Never has a king given up his kingdom for me, ’til now
Never has a man given everything, suffered everything to set me free, ’til now
And how can I repay that kind of sacrifice? It never need repaying is His vow!
