Simeon was told by the Holy Spirit that he would see the Lord’s Christ. Simeon was not at peace until he saw what the Holy Spirit had promised. He had a holy discontent, but now his eyes had seen that which had been promised and now he could die in peace. Lord, give us a holy discontent that drives us to action. Disturb our peace so that we look to you. Help us to wait patiently but let us never wait passively, help us to be proactive as we wait for your promises to unfold.
