Lord, at the end of this year help me to leave the past behind. Let me deal with what needs dealing with, let me put down the baggage that I need to put down and let me forget that which needs forgetting. Help me to forgive those I need to forgive in order to ensure that their actions can hurt me no more. Help me to place my worries and fears in your hands so that they do not rob me of the joy I can experience in you. Help me, as we enter this New Year, to live in the present, to make the most of every opportunity, to experience your love as an ever present reality and to love all those around me. Help me to make the most of the coming year and guide me into being more like you and help me to guide others to be the same. Amen
