Certain Hope

In the West we live in societies that don’t like to wait. If we want something new, we get it and worry about paying for it later. We pay for next day deliveries and when we send an e-mail we want the reply instantaneously!! This is why I love Advent – it’s a time of waiting, anticipating, longing and expecting. Nothing we can do can hurry it’s coming, no amount of money will bring it any sooner. For me it’s a time of being thankful for the past, making the most of the present and looking forward with hope to the future. I’m not just looking forward to Christmas and a celebration of the baby Jesus in a manger, I’m looking forward with real hope to His second coming and the beginning of the biggest party the world will ever see – can you hear the angels warming up? Will you join me in being thankful, making the most of now and in looking forward to that great and certain hope in the future?!?!
