Isaiah 53: 5-6
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Need I say more – Jesus paid the price that we should have paid, not in monetary terms but with His life. We have all done wrong, and we all owe Him an outstanding debt, yet He will never demand it of us. What love, what grace, what selfless sacrifice.
